Reading the quote

Every quote shows the same six numbers. They do not change meaning between markets, terms, or leverage. Once you can read them, you can read any Isometric trade.

The six numbers

NumberWhat it tells you
SettlesThe date and hour the position ends. One price at that hour decides the result. It cannot be closed before then.
Position sizeYour budget times leverage. The exposure the position gives you, and the most it can ever pay.
Worthless at or belowFor a long: settle at or below this price and you receive nothing. A short shows Worthless at or above.
Profit aboveFor a long: settle above this price and you get back more than you paid. A short shows Profit below.
Maximum payoutThe most settlement can pay. Equal to position size, before up to 0.5% of conversion cost on a long.
You pay / max lossThe cost of the position and the most it can lose. It can be under your budget. No margin call, no liquidation.
Between the worthless price and the profit price the position pays something, but less than it cost. That band is where you get part of your money back.

A worked example

Bitcoin is at $100,000. You go Long, pay $500, choose 7 days and 25x. The ticket might show:
NumberValue
Settles7 days from now, on the hour
Position size$12,500
Worthless at or below$100,000
Profit above$104,000
Maximum payout$12,500
You pay / max loss$500
The worthless price lands close to today's price, and breakeven is 4% past it, because at 25x each 1% of the move is worth 25% of what you paid. Higher leverage pushes both prices further out, lower leverage pulls them in. The exact figures depend on the live price and how volatile the market has been, so yours will differ.
Settlement at different prices pays:
Bitcoin at settlementYou receiveResult
$100,000$0−$500
$102,000$250−$250
$104,000$500$0
$106,000$750+$250
$110,000$1,250+$750
$115,000$1,875+$1,375
$120,000$2,500+$2,000
$200,000 and above$12,500+$12,000
Two things to notice. Between $100,000 and $104,000 you get some money back but not all of it, and the payout keeps growing to double the worthless price, where it reaches the maximum.

The same trade as a short

Bitcoin is at $100,000. You go Short, pay $200, choose 7 days and 50x. Position size is $10,000. Suppose the ticket shows worthless at or above $98,000 and profit below $96,040.
Bitcoin at settlementYou receiveResult
$100,000$0−$200
$98,000$0−$200
$96,040$200$0
$95,000$306+$106
$90,000$816+$616
$80,000$1,837+$1,637

Two shortcuts

Breakeven is always the worthless price plus one leverage-share of itself. At 25x, profit starts 1/25th, or 4%, past the worthless price. At 50x it starts 2% past. At 5x it starts 20% past.
Each 1% past the worthless price is worth leverage percent of what you paid. In the long example, every $1,000 move above $100,000 adds $125 to the payout, which is 25% of the $500 paid.

The quote refreshes

A quote is good for a short window. The small ring in the corner of the ticket shows how long is left, and the ticket re-reads automatically. When you confirm, the protocol recalculates the trade against the live price. It will never give you a worse entry price or a smaller position than the quote you confirmed. If it cannot match the quote, the trade fails and nothing is charged.
